Job summary

Bethel School District is seeking a part-time School Safety Aide to help protect students in non‑classroom settings such as lunchrooms, hallways and playgrounds. The role is 2 hours per day across 164 school days per year, paid on the PSE Salary Schedule Level 3 at $22.17 per hour.

The position reports to the principal or assigned administrator and requires the ability to monitor behavior, maintain order and assist in routine safety and supervision tasks in a busy school setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working with school-aged children preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff and administrators.
• Ability to supervise and correct student behavior and diffuse conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Supervises student behavior in lunchrooms, hallways or on playgrounds and mediates disputes.
• Instructs students in proper behavior and enforces rules.
• Assists in setup and cleanup of lunch areas and supervises recess activities.
• Monitors playground equipment for safety and reports repairs.
• Requests first aid as needed and directs students to appropriate care.
• Establishes rapport with students and communicates with teachers and administrators.
• Organizes intramural activities and teaches game rules and fair play.
