Job summary

The Bethel School District is hiring a Crossing Guard to help ensure the safety of students at traffic crossings. The position is 1 hour per day for 178 days per year, with pay on the PSE Salary Schedule Level 3 at $22.17 per hour.

You will supervise students, direct movements, maintain equipment, and report safety concerns. Applicants must complete a state patrol class, pass fingerprinting/background checks, and communicate effectively with children and staff.

Qualifications

• Education/experience with school-aged children.
• Must complete state patrol class.
• Effective oral communication and ability to supervise students.

Responsibilities

• Supervises students at traffic crossings and directs movements.
• Establishes rapport with students and enforces safety rules.
• Supervises patrols and schedules patrols, conducts meetings.
• Maintains crossing guard equipment and related gear.
• Reports safety hazards to appropriate authority.
