Job summary

Piedmont Newton Hospital in Covington, GA is seeking a PRN Respiratory Care student to administer aerosol therapy and teach patients under supervision.

The role requires current enrollment in an AMA-approved program with at least one semester completed, active student status, and rotation experience; BCLS on hire and ACLS within 60 days are required.

Qualifications

• Student enrolled in AMA approved respiratory care program with at least one semester completed
• Active student status must be maintained; letter of recommendation from Program Director required
• Must have completed a student respiratory floor therapy rotation
• BCLS required on hire; ACLS within 60 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Administers aerosol therapy, chest physical therapy and oximetry evaluations to non‑critical patients
• Performs Basic Life Support activities
• Teaches and demonstrates respiratory care activities to patients and their representatives
• Cleans, assembles, sets up and maintains equipment and supplies
• Performs non-invasive respiratory care procedures under supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist

Education

AMA approved respiratory care program (at least one semester completed)

BCLS - Basic Life Support

ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (within 60 days)

Responsibilities

• Administers aerosol therapy, chest physical therapy and oximetry evaluations to non‑critical patients
• Performs Basic Life Support activities
• Teaches and demonstrates respiratory care activities to patients and their representatives
• cleans, assembles, sets up and maintains equipment and supplies.
• Perform non-invasive respiratory care procedures as ordered under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist.

Qualifications

Education

• A student currently enrolled in an AMA approved respiratory care program and completed one semester. Required and
• Active student status must be maintained and documented. Must submit letter of recommendation from Program Director for consideration of employment Required

Work Experience

• Must have completed a student respiratory floor therapy rotation Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• ACLS post completion of second semester of respiratory care program or within 60 days of hire within 60 Days Required
