Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, GA is seeking a student respiratory care trainee to assist with aerosol therapy, chest physical therapy, and oximetry evaluations under supervision.

You will support equipment maintenance, demonstrate respiratory care activities, and perform non-invasive procedures after completing a rotation. BCLS is required on hire and ACLS within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Education: AMA approved respiratory care program and completion of one semester.
• Active student status must be maintained with documentation.
• Letter of recommendation from Program Director for consideration of employment.

Responsibilities

• Administers aerosol therapy, chest physical therapy and oximetry evaluations to non-critical patients.
• Performs Basic Life Support activities.
• Teaches and demonstrates respiratory care activities to patients and their representatives.
• Cleans, assembles, sets up and maintains equipment and supplies.
• Performs non-invasive respiratory care procedures under supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist.

Work Experience

• Must have completed a student respiratory floor therapy rotation Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• ACLS post completion of second semester of respiratory care program or within 60 days of hire within 60 Days Required
