Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a student Respiratory Care professional to support aerosol therapy, chest physical therapy, and oximetry evaluations for non-critical patients under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist.

Applicants must be enrolled in an AMA approved respiratory care program and have completed at least one semester, maintain active student status, and submit a letter of recommendation. BCLS is required on hire and ACLS within 60 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Education: student enrolled in AMA approved respiratory care program with at least one semester completed.
• Active student status must be maintained; letter of recommendation from Program Director required.
• Must have completed a student respiratory floor therapy rotation.
• Licenses and Certifications: BCLS required at hire and ACLS within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administers aerosol therapy, chest physical therapy and oximetry evaluations for non-critical patients.
• Performs Basic Life Support activities.
• Teaches and demonstrates respiratory care activities to patients and their representatives.
• Cleans, assembles, sets up and maintains equipment and supplies.
• Performs non-invasive respiratory care procedures under supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist.
