Job summary

Sam Houston State University is seeking a Student Employee for the School of Agricultural Sciences as an AGET Research Assistant. The role is located at the William Harrell Building, I45 Complex, up to 20 hours per week with a $10 hourly rate.

Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with duties including lab organization, basic fabrication tasks, and assisting with research activities under supervision. Safety training and PPE use are required for all tasks.

Qualifications

• Able to read a tape measure accurately.
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in School of Agricultural Sciences laboratory tasks.
• Support lab experiments and project activities in the SHSU facility.
• Follow instructions and maintain satisfactory work results while working up to 20 hours per week.
