Job summary

The University of Utah's Office of Admissions is seeking 2 Admissions Counselors to expand recruitment in- and out-of-state and to shape the entering class. The role focuses on guiding prospective undergraduate students through the admission process and serving as their primary contact.

You will travel within your territory, conduct information sessions, visit high schools, and work with counselors to advise families on policies. A bachelor’s degree and 2–4 years related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years’ related experience, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for prospective students via email and phone.
• Develop and assess a domestic student recruitment plan to meet enrollment goals.
• Coordinate in-person and virtual high school visits and community recruitment.
• Lead info sessions on/off campus; attend college fairs; advise families.
• Build relationships with prospective students, families, alumni, and coordinators.
• Represent the U at on/off-campus events in assigned territory for first-year students.
• Read and evaluate domestic applications in regional territory.
• Travel 4–6 weeks annually within the territory.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
