Overview
We are seeking a Student Radiologic Technologist (PRN), internally referred to as our Student Rad Tech at Riverview Regional Medical Center a member of Prime Healthcare. As a Student Radiologic Technologist, you will learn and gain practical experience in all aspects of radiologic technology working independently of a technologist. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
Perform Diagnostic Radiographic or other procedures according to department protocols, working independently of a Radiologic Technologist
- Learn to perform a variety of radiographic examinations, including X-rays and fluoroscopy
- Understand how to evaluate image quality, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain equipment performance to meet established standards
- Gain knowledge of how to gauge if X-ray equipment is functioning properly and that images meet quality standards, which may involve performing equipment checks, calibrations, and troubleshooting as needed
- Interact with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and ensure their comfort and safety during X-ray examinations with assistant from a Rad Tech
- Maintain accurate records of X-ray procedures, including patient information, images, and relevant medical history
- Encouraged to participate in professional development activities, such as attending conferences, workshops, and seminars, to stay current with advancements in radiologic technology and healthcare practices
- Operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images, learn proper techniques for radiation protection, shielding, and monitoring to ensure safe and effective imaging procedures
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Currently attending an accredited health care educational program for radiologic technology
- Meet state requirements for exemption from licensing to operate x-ray equipment. Documentation of state exemption required in personnel file
- Completion of their first year curriculum requirements
- Current BCLS (AHA)
- At least one year of clinical experience in the radiology technologist program required
- Proficient computer skills
