Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a student Radiologic Technologist to work with a registered technologist to complete diagnostic imaging exams. The student prepares patients for exams, stocks, and prepares exam rooms, and assists in the performance of radiologic exams.

Position is a PRN, hourly employee with 8 scheduled hours weekly in UMA Radiology. Requires enrollment as a 2nd year student in an accredited diagnostic imaging program, SC Limited Radiologic License, and

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a 2nd year student in an accredited Diagnostic Imaging Program.
• Must be able to learn and use new processes, tools, and equipment as required.
• Enrollment in SC Department of Health licensure requirements per program.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and positions patients and selects exposure factors under supervision.
• Follows safety standards and performs quality control procedures as required.
• Assists supervising technologists and physicians in radiographic exams.
• Maintains department cleanliness and orders supplies as needed.
• Notifies staff of supply needs and equipment issues.
