Job summary

Crisp Regional Health Services is seeking a Radiology Technologist to join the Medical Imaging team. The role delivers professional imaging services under minimal supervision and supports care across neonates to geriatrics.

The candidate should be enrolled in an accredited Radiology program, with up to two years of related experience, and actively pursuing ARRT certification. BLS certification must be current within three months of hire.

Qualifications

  • Education: Currently enrolled in an Associate’s degree in Radiology or Radiologic Sciences program or a JRCT-approved program.
  • Experience: Entry level job that requires up to two years of work-related experience or equivalent education/training.
  • Licensure/Certifications: Actively pursuing ARRT certification. Maintains a current BLS certification; if not current at hire, must obtain within 3 months.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the health care team under supervision to ensure patient well-being.
  • Performs basic radiologic studies using C-arm and portable equipment within department, ED, or surgery suites.
  • Maintains sterile technique and protocol during sterile procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of positioning and anatomy to obtain required views as ordered by physicians.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, visitors, physicians, and staff across departments.
  • Obtains billing data and ensures the procedure matches the diagnosis on the requisition.
  • Adheres to ALARA radiation safety standards to protect patients and staff.
  • Uses protective equipment (badges, aprons) for self and others during shifts.
  • Evaluates imaging quality, satisfaction, and regulatory standards for compliance.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve quality and timeliness of imaging services.
  • Follows department policies, procedures, and all applicable laws and JCAHO requirements.
  • Participates in staff development, CEU classes, and in-service programs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

The Radiology Technologist performs radiographic procedures at a technical level with minimal to no supervision from the Director. This position maintains the qualifications to provide care for patients across the full spectrum of age groups: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

The Radiology Technologist performs radiographic procedures at a technical level with minimal to no supervision from the Director. This position maintains the qualifications to provide care for patients across the full spectrum of age groups: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Basic Qualifications
  • Education: Currently enrolled in an Associate’s degree in Radiology or Radiologic Sciences program or a technical or vocational radiology sciences program approved by the JRCT.
  • Experience: This is an entry level job that requires up to two years of work-related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Licensure, Registrations& Certifications: Actively pursuing an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. Maintains a current certification in Basic Life Support (If BLS verification is not current upon hire, it must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.)
Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with the health care team members and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist to ensure the patient's well-being as evidenced by staff/client feedback.
  • Conducts basic radiologic studies using C-arm and portable equipment within the department, ED, or in surgery suites.
  • Employs the use of sterile technique and protocol during sterile procedures.
  • Processes and demonstrates a detailed knowledge of positioning and anatomy to facilitate the desired views as per physician orders.
  • Functions as part of an interdisciplinary team with positive interpersonal communication skills when communicating with patients, families, visitors, physicians, and staff in all departments of the organization.
  • Obtains required billing data and account registration ensuring that the ordered procedure matches the diagnosis on the requisition.
  • Operates within the A.L.A.R.A radiation standards of care.
  • Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees through identifying, correcting and reporting health and safety hazards.
  • Ensures the use of all necessary protective and monitoring equipment (badges, aprons, etc.) for self and others throughout the work shift.
  • Evaluates Medical Imaging quality, satisfaction, and regulatory standards to ensure compliance.
  • Works to continually identify new approaches that improve the quality and timeliness of Medical Imaging services provided.
  • Follows all department policies and procedures and ensures compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations, and JCAHO requirements.
  • Participates in staff development programs, CEU classes and regularly scheduled in-service programs.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.
