Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of student development, advising and counseling techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of undergraduate and parent orientation and transition programs.
• Knowledge of leadership theory.
• Curriculum design and teaching experience for an undergraduate course or seminar.
• Program management of large campus events for students.
• Knowledge of university computer applications and risk assessment processes.
• Thorough knowledge of Student Affairs/Student Life.
• Skills in judgment, problem solving, and performance improvement.
• Knowledge of FERPA and related policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and implementing programming components within Golden Bear Orientation with NSS staff and campus partners.
• Build relationships with campus stakeholders and coordinate outreach for programming.
• Lead programming areas such as wellness, safety, and parent orientation; support campus departments.
• Recommend changes and new activities to management.
• Supervise 1–2 Student staff and oversee onboarding and training for Orientation Aides.
• Develop and evaluate Orientation Mentor and Orientation Leader recruitment and development curriculums.
