Job summary

The University of California, Berkeley is seeking a Program Coordinator in New Student Services to support Golden Bear Orientation and 9,000+ new students annually. The role builds relationships with campus partners to foster leadership, growth, and active engagement with faculty and advisers.

Responsibilities include designing programming, supervising 1–2 student staff, and developing Orientation Mentor/Leader training; a bachelor's degree is required, and a master’s is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of student development, advising and counseling techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of undergraduate orientation and transition programs.
  • Knowledge of leadership theory.
  • Curriculum design and teaching experience at undergraduate level.
  • Experience managing large campus events for students.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the designs and implementation of programming components within Golden Bear Orientation with NSS staff and campus partners.
  • Build relationships with campus stakeholders and execute coordinated outreach.
  • Support wellness, inclusion, and student engagement programs and contribute to orientation.
  • Supervise student staff and develop recruitment, onboarding and training.
