Sacramento State is hiring an Assistant Program Coordinator Trainee to work under the Parents & Families Program Coordinator and Director. The 12-month trainee period focuses on developing skills to operate under supervision while assisting with programs that boost student success, leadership, and overall campus experience.

The role mentors students, coordinates events with interns and staff, and supports campus-wide committees.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of the basic principles of individual and group behavior.
• Knowledge of research and observation techniques for recording, classifying, and interpreting factual information.
• Knowledge of interviewing techniques and methods.
• Ability to gather and analyze data and make reasoned recommendations.
• Ability to participate in group meetings and interviews with others.
• Ability to clearly express ideas orally and in writing; build cooperative relationships with students, staff and faculty.
• Commitment to a welcoming, inclusive work environment with diverse colleagues and constituents.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Program Coordinator through clearly defined efforts to deliver integrated support services and programming.
• Serve as a mentor and advisor to students; work with interns and student assistants.
• Support staff who design and deliver programs for graduate and undergraduate students to promote student excellence.
