Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University is seeking a Peer Academic Coach to support undergraduate students within Eastern University’s Academic Resource Center (ARC). The role involves one-on-one and small-group coaching to boost self-efficacy, resilience, and academic confidence.
As a current Eastern University student, you will help peers develop time management, study strategies, goal setting, and note-taking while maintaining confidential session logs and coordinating with ARC
The Peer Academic Coach plays a vital role within Eastern University’s multi-layered Academic Resource Center (ARC) coaching ecosystem. In this peer leadership position, you will work one-on-one and in small groups with fellow undergraduate students to help them build self-efficacy, resilience, and academic confidence. Peer Coaches meet students where they are, offering a collaborative, encouraging space to help them navigate academic hurdles and achieve their personal and educational goals.

Skill Development: Empower peers to cultivate essential academic habits, including time management, proactive study strategies, goal setting, and note-taking.
Metacognitive Coaching: Guide students in understanding their unique learning styles, reflecting on their academic progress, and adjusting their routines to achieve better outcomes.
Consistent Accountability: Provide ongoing support and structured check-ins (in-person or virtually) to help students stay on track, celebrate successes, and problem-solve setbacks.
Campus Connections: Act as a knowledgeable guide to Eastern University’s network of support, connecting students to ARC Tutoring, Writing Support, Testing Services, and other campus resources.
Administrative Diligence: Maintain brief, confidential session logs to track student progress and collaborate regularly with ARC professional staff.
