Job summary

University of Georgia is seeking a Student Worker Assistant to perform routine lab/greenhouse maintenance and plant care in the Tsai lab. The role includes washing glassware, tissue processing and disposal, stocking supplies, and general lab cleaning.

A flexible schedule with 3 hours/day, 3-5 days/week is described, with potential weekend shifts. Preferred candidates have biology/chemistry coursework, and experience in a lab or plant care.

Qualifications

• Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies: follow complex instructions, work independently, organization skills, attention to detail, precision, self‑awareness and manual delicacy.
• Coursework in biology or chemistry and previous lab and/or plant care experience is a plus.
• Preferred education/majors related to biology or ecology.

Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance in lab or greenhouse (e.g., washing glassware, plant tissue processing and disposal, stocking supplies, general cleaning, etc.).
• Plant Care (e.g., watering, scouting for pests, applying fertilizer, etc.).
• Assisting on other research projects as needed.
