Job summary

University of Georgia is seeking a Student Worker Assistant to perform routine lab/greenhouse maintenance and plant care in the Tsai lab. The role includes washing glassware, tissue processing and disposal, stocking supplies, and general lab cleaning.

A flexible schedule with 3 hours/day, 3-5 days/week is described, with potential weekend shifts. Preferred candidates have biology/chemistry coursework, and experience in a lab or plant care.

Qualifications

• Coursework in biology or chemistry and previous lab and/or plant care experience is a plus.

Tasks include washing glassware, plant tissue processing and disposal, stocking supplies, general cleaning, and preparation of common reagents. Preferred schedule is 3 hours/day, 3-5 days/week, which can include some weekend shifts. Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position Biology, Plant Biology, Ecology, Forestry or other science majors preferred. Coursework in biology or chemistry and previous lab and/or plant care experience is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Ability to follow complex instructions, ability to work independently, organization skills, attention to detail, precision, self‑awareness and manual delicacy.
