Job summary

The University of Georgia is seeking a part-time Greenhouse Tsai Lab Student Assistant to maintain experimental trees and assist with greenhouse tasks. You will work alongside a greenhouse research technician to weed, trim, monitor plants, and support biocontrol and fertilization efforts.

Preferred candidates have biology/chemistry coursework and prior plant care experience, with flexibility for 3 hours per day, 3–5 days a week, plus occasional weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Requires follow-through on detailed greenhouse tasks and plant care routines.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Preference for coursework in biology/chemistry and prior lab or greenhouse experience.

Responsibilities

• Plant care in greenhouse including watering, pest scouting, fertilizing, pruning, and general upkeep.
• Routine maintenance of greenhouse facilities and supplies; cleaning and waste handling.
• Assist with other research projects as needed within the greenhouse setting.
