Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Administration, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience delivering grant-funded youth initiatives (e.g., GEAR UP, TRiO).
• Strong knowledge of postsecondary admissions, college-ready curricula, and financial aid processes.
• Alabama driver’s license for youth transportation.

Responsibilities

• Direct Student Advising & College/Career Readiness across target schools.
• Provide individual and group academic support and college/career exploration.
• Develop and deliver classroom lessons and six-week summer curricula.
• Support recruitment, eligibility, and maintain active student caseload.
• Plan and coordinate site-level activities including campus visits, career fairs, and workshops.
• Coordinate logistics for off-site events and field trips; ensure youth safety compliance.
• Represent GEAR UP at events to enhance family/community engagement.
• Oversee site staff including tutors, mentors, and instructors.
• Facilitate monthly meetings with counselors and teachers to align goals.
• Maintain regular communication with parents through workshops and outreach.
• Maintain participant files and progress records for compliance and reporting.
• Contribute to state/regional professional development and program evaluations.
