Job summary

Miami Dade College is seeking a Student Opportunity Coordinator to help students access wraparound services and support retention in the program and their transition to workplace readiness and further education.

The role partners with instructors, campus staff, workforce agencies, and college programs to deliver services, assist admissions during peak periods, and monitor student progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Three (3) years of related experience required.
• All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates student access to wraparound services as part of the program in an effort to optimize student success.
• Identifies student needs, coordinates access and delivery of services.
• Reports service outcomes to departmental staff.
• Communicates with instructors to monitor student retention and completion, post-testing and transition to workplace or postsecondary education.
• Monitors individual student retention and completion of Integrated Education and Training programs.
• Serves as a resource to campus administrators, staff, and committees as they identify, develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate resources for students.
• Collaborates with workforce agencies and college programs to deliver benefits for the students.
• Assists with student admissions and registration during peak period.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Student Opportunity Coordinator assists the students to obtain the wraparound services provided by the College and third-party agencies.
