Job summary

Regency Hospital - Macon is seeking a Student Nurse Technician (Future Registered Nurse) in Macon, GA. The position is per diem/PRN/as needed with compensation of $18.00 per hour.

Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and provide proof of the first-year/fundamentals of nursing (or equivalent). As a Student Nurse Technician, you will gain diverse, hands-on experience aligned with nursing education and NCLEX requirements, with orientation and potential advancement

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN) and must provide proof of completion of first year/fundamentals of nursing (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and aseptic practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow written and verbal instructions, and work well with others including patients, families, physicians and staff.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight and demographic data.
• Assist patients with personal and daily care (bath, oral hygiene, shaving, hair care).
• Assist with urinary catheter removal, finger stick blood sugars, bladder scans, urine/stool collection, ostomy care, drainage bag management.
• Remove peripheral IVs as directed by RN (cannot remove IVs in antecubital fossa or higher).
• Deliver meals and snacks and assist patients unable to feed themselves; document intake.
• Turn and reposition immobile patients and assist with mobility program.
• Transport patients to designated areas as needed.
