Select Specialty Hospital - North Knoxville is seeking a Student Nurse Technician (Future Registered Nurse) for a Per Diem schedule. You will support our nursing team with basic patient care and vital signs while gaining hands-on experience.

You must be enrolled in an ADN/BSN program and provide proof of completing the first year; BLS certification is required upon hire, with opportunities to learn basic nursing techniques in a supportive setting aligned to NCLEX expectations.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in ADN or BSN nursing program and must provide proof of completion of the first year/fundamentals of nursing.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and aseptic practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively and to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height, weight and demographic data.
• Assist patients with personal and daily care (bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, hair care).
• Assist with catheter removal, finger stick blood sugars, bladder scans, specimen collection, ostomy care and drainage management.
• Remove peripheral IVs as directed by the RN.
• Deliver meals and assist with feeding; document oral intake.
• Turn and reposition immobile patients; assist with mobility.
• Transport patients to designated areas and treatment centers.
