Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Health Care Technician to support licensed nursing staff and care for a patient group. The role includes personal care, hygiene assistance, data collection, and vital signs monitoring in a fast-paced unit.

Under the supervision of an RN, you will coordinate with departments, stock supplies, and serve as a liaison for patients and staff. Requires BLS, HS diploma or GED, and CNA qualifications with training completion.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• At least one semester of nursing clinical experience; CNA within past 24 months.
• Successful completion of Carle's HCT In Training Program.
• Relevant medical military training; CNA coursework within past 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain unit supplies and equipment, stock nurse servers, and assist with charting.
• Collect data on assigned patients and ensure accurate documentation.
• Demonstrate competency in essential skills including vital signs and glucose monitoring.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and hygiene.
• Prepare patients for transportation and assist with transportation.
• Complete vital signs post-procedure and monitor patient needs.
• Respond to call lights and provide bedside assistance as needed.
