Job summary

Mercy South Float Pool is seeking a Nursing Student Tech-PRN to support patient care across diverse units under RN/LPN supervision. The role emphasizes flexibility, teamwork, and rapid skill development in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include enrollment in an approved nursing program, high school diploma or GED, and BLS certification within one month of hire. EMT/Paramedic experience is a plus; lifting and mobility are frequent.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; enrolled in approved nursing program; transcripts required showing Fundamentals of Nursing course completion.
BLS certification required within one month of hire.
Preferred EMT, Paramedic, or prior patient care experience.
Physical requirements include lifting (up to 50 pounds), standing and walking most shifts.

Responsibilities

Assist in individualized patient care under supervision of RN or LPN to support wellness goals.
Perform designated clinical procedures and nonclinical tasks essential to care delivery.
Collaborate with the care team to meet unit goals and ensure patient safety.
Float across units (Orthopedics, Med/Surg, Telemetry, ICU, ED, Behavioral Health, Oncology, Neurology) as needed.
