Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS invites applications for a Student Nurse Tech (SNT). The role is PRN with variable shifts, reporting to the RN and supporting direct patient care within the Kansas Nurse Practice Act guidelines.

Qualified candidates are enrolled in an accredited BSN RN program or ADN program, having completed the first semester. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer; prior healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the first semester and be enrolled in an accredited BSN RN program, or completed the equivalent time and be enrolled in a currently accredited ADN program.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
• Preference will be given to prior work experience in a comparable health care setting

Responsibilities

• The Student Nurse Tech (SNT) provides direct patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse as defined by the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.
• The SNT reports to the Director or designee.
