Job summary

Connecticut Children's in Hartford is seeking a patient care assistant role on an inpatient unit. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will perform routine direct patient care, assist with personal care, obtain vital signs, and support environmental and administrative tasks to promote safety and comfort for patients and families.

Applicants must be enrolled in a BSN program, current BLS/CPR certification, and able to work evenings/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: enrolled in a BSN program as a rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior.
• License: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR for adult, child and infant.
• Knowledge: basic medical terminology, math and measurements, infection control concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision on an inpatient unit.
• Document patient information accurately in electronic records.
• Support unit operations: inventory, equipment, and routine clerical tasks.
