Job summary

Wellstar is offering a Student Nurse Extern (SNE) program for current nursing students to gain bedside experience while pursuing an RN degree. The role provides basic patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, with emphasis on safety, compassion, and effective communication.

Responsibilities include assisting with vital signs, hygiene, mobility, and basic care tasks; transporting supplies and medications; and participating in unit education and performance improvement activities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with at least one clinical rotation in a pre-licensure program.
• Current enrollment in a nationally accredited Associate/Bachelor/Master-level pre-licensure nursing program and completed at least one clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist with hygiene, nutrition, elimination, and basic comfort measures.
