Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Student Nurse Extern for PRN shifts. The extern will assist nursing staff with selected procedures and routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, with responsibilities expanding as the student progresses through their undergraduate program.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a nursing program with a recommendation from faculty, submitted with the application.
• Includes Kentucky State Registry (SRNA) eligibility and Fundamentals of Nursing course completed.
• One year of experience as a nurse aide is preferred by level.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff by performing selected procedures and routine duties under RN supervision.
• Ensure all functions are within the scope of training for the EXTERN level and aligned with progression through the program.
