Baptist Health is seeking a Student Nurse Extern for PRN shifts. The extern will assist nursing staff with selected procedures and routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, with responsibilities expanding as the student progresses through their undergraduate program.

Applicants must be enrolled in a nursing program with a faculty recommendation submitted with the application, including one of the certification or experience requirements listed: SRNA eligibility,

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a nursing program with a recommendation from faculty, submitted with the application.
• Includes Kentucky State Registry (SRNA) eligibility and Fundamentals of Nursing course completed.
• One year of experience as a nurse aide is preferred by level.

Student Nurse Extern

The Extern is a participant in the Student Nurse Extern (SNE) Program at any one of three levels. The SNE assists nursing staff by performing selected procedures and routine duties in caring for patients. All functions must be within the scope of training for their given EXTERN level and performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Additional skills are added to the SNE job responsibilities in alignment with progression through their undergraduate nursing program.

SNE Levels include: (Level 1) Student Nurse Extern I (Level 2) Nurse Extern II (Level 3) Nurse Extern III.
