Job summary

Kaweah Health in Visalia, CA seeks a Student Nurse Aide to support nursing staff in patient care on the 6151 ICCU-3W unit. The candidate must be enrolled in an accredited RN program and have or be pursuing a CA CNA certification, with BLS in place.

Responsibilities include assisting with basic tasks, documenting care in the EMR, and maintaining patient safety and confidentiality while supporting the unit’s daily operations.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• Current CA Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
• Enrollment in an accredited RN program with at least one semester completed.
• Participation in a Kaweah Health/Unitek nursing program partnership may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff as delegated by the RN.
• Maintain student skills checklist and ensure competency is validated by the Nursing School/Preceptor.
• Respond to patient needs and call lights promptly (within two minutes).
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge processes.
• Provide patient care tasks within scope of student duties.
• Document care provided in the EMR as soon as possible.
• Support unit operations and patient comfort (meals, hygiene, mobility).
