UH St. John Medical Center provides residents of western Cuyahoga and eastern Lorain counties with high-quality health care in a faith-based Catholic hospital setting, including a Level 3 trauma center.

What can I do as a NAII?

NA IIs work under the direction of an RN to provide safe, efficient, and age-specific care to patients and families, helping them attain, maintain, regain, and/or sustain optimal health. Responsibilities include:

• Delivering direct patient care, including ADLs/hygiene, Vital signs, I&O, Bladder scanning, EKG, Glucometer & other point of care testing (where applicable), and Restraints.


• Communicating and documenting interventions and observations.


• Participating in quality improvement processes.


• Engaging in learning and self-improvement activities.


• Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with patients, families, and coworkers.
