Job summary

The University of Maryland (UMD), University Health Center (UHC) seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join the PASS team and provide direct care to a diverse student population. This onsite role involves psychiatric evaluations, intake assessments, and ongoing medication management, with collaboration across departments for comprehensive care.

This full-time exempt position reports to the PASS Director, on campus five days weekly in College Park, MD, with one telework day after probation if

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with PMHNP credentialing.
• Direct patient care experience as a PMHNP required.
• Outpatient psychiatric care experience preferred; inpatient exposure acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct psychiatric services to UMD students, including assessment, diagnosis and continuing medication management.
• Collaborate with counseling center therapists to share patients and provide supervision as directed.
• Coordinate with primary and acute care providers for patients in mental health crisis and arrange warm handoffs.
• May perform urgent evaluations and assist with hospitalization decisions as needed.
• Liaise with hospitals for post-hospitalization care when appropriate.
• Participate in call duties on a rotating schedule.
• Engage in Health Center in-services, peer review, and campus committee activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
