As a current SXU student on Federal Work Study, you will contribute to a dynamic media team, attend staff meetings, and participate in the Student Media Leadership Committee while maintaining 5 hours of weekly office

Qualifications

• Must be a current Saint Xavier University student.
• Must be Federal Work Study Eligible.
• Must include a Resume and Cover Letter.
• Background in Computer Science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Department’s official website.
• Conduct website upgrades when necessary.
• Upload the official PDFs of The Xavierite.
• Update the website on a regular basis with new content.
• Ensure copyright compliance for downloaded materials.
• Monitor site content for accuracy and appropriateness.
• Attend general staff meetings.
• Be a member of the Student Media Leadership Committee.
• Utilize WordPress for updating web content.
• Use basic HTML coding knowledge.
• Oversee the department’s social media presence and develop a strategy.
• Maintain weekly posted office hours (5 hours per week).

Summary

The Student Media Webmaster is in charge of updating and maintaining the department’s official website: www.sxustudentmedia.com. The Student Media Webmaster will also oversee the department’s social media presence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• In charge of maintaining the Department’s official website

• Update the website on a regular basis with new content
• Assure that no copyright laws are broken in the use of downloaded images, text, photos, videos, graphics, and other published materials to the website
• Monitor site for content
• Attend general staff meetings
• Is a member of the Student Media Leadership Committee
• Has experience utilizing WordPress for updating web content
• Has general HTML coding knowledge and experience
• Oversees the department’s social media presence and develops a strategy.
• Maintains weekly posted office hours (5 hours per week)

Qualifications

MUST BE A STUDENT AT SAINT XAVIER UNIVERSITY

Must be Federal Work Study Eligible

Background in Computer Science preferred.
