Job summary

Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio is seeking a Maintenance Student Worker to support the Facilities Department with hands-on projects, including construction, demolition, general maintenance, repairs, and office relocations.

Under supervision, you will assist with maintaining campus buildings, equipment, and infrastructure while developing practical skills, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a full-time student at Hocking College.
• Maintain SAP and a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide semi-skilled labor for maintenance, repair, construction, renovation, and restoration across campus facilities.
• Assist with plumbing tasks, equipment maintenance, water/sewage lines, sinks, faucets, toilets, pipes, and drains; assist carpentry work on doors, windows, walls, floors, roofs, and locks.
• Support construction and renovation projects including new buildings, updates, demolition, site prep, and debris removal.
• Perform basic preventative and corrective maintenance under supervision.
• Relocate, set up, transport, and dispose of office furniture and equipment; load/unload materials and tools as required.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, machinery, and related equipment per safety standards.
• Maintain clean, organized, hazard-free work areas.
• Follow all safety guidelines and departmental procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support Facilities.
