Responsibilities include but are not limited to sorting and tracking all incoming mail/parcels for distribution to resident students and distributed digital mailboxes. Operating and maintaining necessary mailroom equipment; Utilizing mail and locker software to log, assign and distribute packages. Managing the work assignments, scheduling and time of student workers assigned to the mailroom; assisting in maintaining a clean and safe facility; acting as a representative of the University with the U.S. Postal Services and contracted Courier Services; tracking mailroom supply needs and managing financial and other tasks as assigned by the Manager of Student Mail Services in NYC.

Position Duties

Position Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred.
  • Must be PC literate and possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with accuracy and must be detailed-oriented.
  • Some knowledge of Mailroom operations preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable record is required.
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
Work Hours

Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (Prospective employee may also be asked to work some scheduled hours during times University may be closed or on holiday. Supervisor will schedule days, time, and staffing.)
