Job summary

University of Kansas is seeking a part-time Student Hourly to provide computer, software, and network support for the Institute for Information Sciences (I2S) in Lawrence. You will work with a small team supporting 400+ user accounts and devices in a research environment, reporting to I2S Staff System Administrators.

Responsibilities include installing and configuring hardware/software, assisting with daily computing and networking operations, and aiding ongoing research projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in building and assembling desktop computers.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues and perform diagnostics.
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems is preferred.
• IP based networking experience is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills.

• Install and configure computer hardware and software for end-users.
• Support daily operations of computing and networking facilities.
• Assist ongoing research projects with computing and networking needs.
