Job summary

The University of Austin seeks a highly organized Student Life Coordinator to join the Student Life team. This role provides administrative and operational support across housing, student programs, residential life, student organizations, parent communications, and departmental operations.

The Coordinator will work with the Director of Student Life to ensure programs run smoothly and to strengthen the overall student experience, building strong relationships with students.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute campus events, orientation, and student programming, including scheduling, catering, security, A/V, and logistics.
• Support Resident Assistants with training and programming, housing communications, and move-in.
• Communicate with parents and families about events and student resources.
• Maintain organized departmental systems and processes and assist the Director of Student Life.
• Develop programming to strengthen freshman engagement, connection, retention, and community beyond orientation.
• Identify operational gaps and implement improved procedures across Student Life.

Job Summary

The University of Austin is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and student-focused Student Life Coordinator to join the Student Life team. This position provides administrative and operational support across student programming, student support, residential life, student organizations, parent communication, and departmental operations. The Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Student Life to ensure programs and initiatives are executed effectively while building strong relationships with students and helping strengthen the overall student experience.

Responsibilities

• Student Support: Support students with housing, onboarding, and other administrative needs; conduct regular student check-ins; participate in an on-call rotation for overnight crisis response; and support student wellness initiatives and resources.
• Events & Programming: Plan and execute campus events, orientation, and student programming, including scheduling, catering, security, A/V, and day-of logistics.
• Residential Life: Support Resident Assistants through regular check-ins, training, resources, and programming; assist with housing communications and move-in.
• Student Organizations: Support student clubs and organizations with programming, engagement, accountability, and University processes.
• Parent Communication: Manage regular communications with parents and families regarding important University information, events, deadlines, and student support resources.
• Administrative Operations: Track student forms and documentation, coordinate purchasing and other program logistics, maintain organized departmental systems, and provide administrative support to the Director of Student Life.
• First-Year Experience: Help develop programming and systems that strengthen freshman engagement, connection, retention, and community beyond orientation.
• Process Improvement: Identify operational gaps and develop systems and procedures that improve efficiency, communication, and consistency across Student Life.
