The New York Public Library is seeking a Library Page at the Fort Washington Library for students currently enrolled in an accredited program. This role offers an educational stepping stone with exposure to daily library operations and customer service.

You'll shelve materials, assist patrons with basic computer and AV use, and help prepare spaces for events. The position requires reliability, strong communication, and the ability to work evenings and Saturdays for about 15 hours per week.

Qualificações

• Page positions are for candidates currently enrolled in a degree program or accredited school
• Proper employment certificate for minors under 18 as required by NYS law
• Ability to accurately and efficiently sort and arrange items in alphanumeric order
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Excellent customer service and ability to work with diverse patrons
• Demonstrated reliability and professionalism
• Basic computer and basic technology skills such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications

Responsabilidades

• Provide exceptional customer service with a positive attitude
• Shelf and arrange books, CDs, DVDs, and other materials alphabetically and numerically
• Assist patrons with locating materials and direct to the appropriate staff
• Assist patrons with basic computer, internet, and AV equipment usage
• Locate and prepare library materials requested by patrons
• Help staff check materials for damage and remove from shelves
• Assist in setting up public spaces for events and programs
• Perform other related tasks as needed
