Job summary

The New York Public Library is seeking Library Page interns for the Library for the Performing Arts location. These student-friendly roles offer 18 hours per week, including evenings and Saturdays, with duties ranging from shelving and assisting patrons to supporting events and programs.

Compensation is $17.00 per hour. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree program and meet minor employment requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a degree program/accredited school
• Employment certificate for minors under 18 as required by NYS law
• Ability to sort items alphanumerically and follow detailed instructions

Responsibilities

• Retrieves, shelves and arranges books, archival boxes, media and other materials in alphabetic/numeric order
• Demonstrates positive, courteous customer service
• Assists patrons with basic computer, internet and AV equipment usage
• Locates and prepares materials requested by patrons
• Assists staff with managing research and circulating materials
• Helps set up public spaces for events and programs
• Performs other related tasks as needed
