Job summary

The University of New Mexico College of University Libraries & Learning Sciences (CULLS) seeks motivated student employees for the Access Services team. Library Assistants are the first point of contact for patrons and support daily library operations across Centennial Science & Engineering, Fine Arts & Design, or Zimmerman Library.

Under supervision, you will learn policies, help patrons discover materials, access resources, shelve items, maintain stacks, and participate in special projects

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at UNM for a minimum of 6 credit hours during the normal school year.
• Current Work Study award.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply library and campus policies and procedures.
• Assist patrons with discovering and using library materials.
• Help access resources including circulating material, study rooms, and computing/printing environments.
• Assist with opening/closing duties and maintain welcoming library environments.
• Shelve materials and keep collections organized through regular stack maintenance.
• Participate in special projects as assigned.
