Job summary

The University of Connecticut Hartford Campus is seeking a full-time Student Activities Coordinator to support undergraduate student activities and leadership development. You will advise the UConn Hartford Undergraduate Student Government, support campus organizations, and provide leadership opportunities both on and off campus in collaboration with local institutions.

You will work with campus colleagues to manage a detailed portfolio, uphold ethical standards, and advance antiracist

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field and 3–4 years of professional experience in a position related to student activities or similar work demonstrating leadership development and student organization advising.
• Demonstrated effective organizational, operational, and programming skills.
• Experience planning and implementing Orientation, first-year/transfer/family/transitional programs, and student leadership trainings.
• Demonstrated interpersonal, advising and communication skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management.
• Experience developing inclusive student programming and engaging diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Advises the Undergraduate Student Government (USG), including the executive board and committees, in planning and managing policies, programs and operations.
• Oversees the USG budget, training, purchasing, transaction protocols and inventory.
• Monitors student organization registrations and training requirements.
• Acts as a liaison between RSOs and the Department of Student Activities at Storrs.
• Plans and disseminates information to students, faculty, and staff.
• Co-manage Orientation operations and ensure smooth execution for incoming students and families.
• Coordinates inclusive programs that build community and enhance the student experience across identities.
