Job summary

University of Connecticut Hartford Campus seeks a full-time Student Activities Coordinator to support undergraduate student activities and leadership development. Under the Director of Event Services, you will advise the Undergraduate Student Government and coordinate student organizations across the Hartford campus.

You will collaborate with campus departments to create inclusive programs, develop leadership opportunities, and coordinate Orientation and campus-wide events, with evening/weekend

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3–4 years of related experience in student activities.
• Strong organizational, operational, and programming skills.
• Experience with Orientation, first-year/transfer/family programs, and leadership trainings.
• Excellent interpersonal, advising, and communication skills.
• Experience budgeting and fiscal management.
• Commitment to working at a large, diverse urban campus.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) and manage policies, programs and operations.
• Oversee USG budget including training, purchasing, and inventory procedures.
• Monitor student organization registrations and training completion.
• Serve as liaison between RSOs and the Department of Student Activities at Storrs.
• Plan and implement leadership development and community engagement activities.
• Co-manage Orientation operations for incoming students and families.
• Develop inclusive programs to build belonging across identities on campus.
• Plan campus-wide events such as Involvement Fairs, Volunteer Fairs, Convocation and End of Semester Celebrations.
• Teach at least one section of the First-Year Experience class each academic year.
• Liaise with regional campus student activities staff.
