Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas is seeking a Student Hourly Assistant for the Distance Learning CIITS Agency. This student worker position supports computer labs, instructional designers, and multimedia staff, with weekend/evening shifts for events.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
• Must be in good academic standing (SAP) with minimum 2.0 GPA.
• No prior experience necessary; for summer term, must be enrolled for at least three (3) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours or preregistered for six (6) undergraduate or nine (9) graduate hours for upcoming fall term.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular maintenance on the computers in the lab.
• Maintain inventory of supplies; place supply orders.
• Keep records of maintenance activities.
• Ensure lab equipment is cared for by users.
• Set up and shut down the lab according to work hours.
• Provide technical support to faculty, staff and students via telephone, email, chat, and in person.
• Assist with setup of computers, printers, webcams, scanners, moves.
• Assist instructional designers with accessibility projects.
• Assist multimedia productions staff with video records or live streams.
• Be available for weekends and evenings for events.
