Job summary

Good Shepherd Services, Ltd. seeks an Internship and Career Coordinator to collaborate with the DOE to connect students with internship experiences that empower them for life after high school.

You will facilitate job readiness activities, coordinate placements, monitor progress, and work with students and employers to support graduation goals. Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Hours are 35 per week at Brooklyn Frontiers High School in Brooklyn, NY; salary range is $50,000–$55,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience with adolescents in employment or vocational settings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Willing to travel to GSS program sites.
• Weekend availability including overnight when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Outreach to potential internship providers and employers to identify opportunities.
• Create and maintain internship opportunities based on student interests and local opportunities.
• Match and place participants into placements and track progress through evaluations.
• Oversee placement and monitoring of participants at sites and obtain employer feedback.
• Develop curriculum and facilitate weekly seminar groups for internship students.
• Manage payroll onboarding and timesheet data for student interns.
• Collaborate with Advocates to support students' progress toward graduation.
• Liaise with post-secondary team on job readiness and resume/interview skills.
