Good Shepherd Services, Ltd in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an Internship and Career Coordinator to develop and connect high school students with internship experiences in collaboration with the DOE. You will implement job readiness and career exploration activities and support students toward post-high school goals.

The role involves coordinating with GSS program sites, arranging placements, tracking progress, and delivering weekly seminars to enhance career readiness.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience working with adolescents in employment or vocational settings (1:1 and group).
• Strong organizational, teamwork, verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel to GSS program sites.
• Ability to work weekends, including overnight when necessary.
• Commitment to a strength-based, youth development approach.

Responsabilidades

• Outreach to internship providers and employers to identify and secure opportunities for students.
• Create and maintain internship opportunities based on student interests and referrals.
• Place participants into placements and track progress through evaluations.
• Oversee placement and monitoring of participants at internship sites and obtain employer feedback.
• Develop curriculum and facilitate weekly seminar groups for students in internships.
• Identify and utilize tools to assess participants' work readiness and skill development.
• Onboard interns into payroll system and manage timesheets and hours.
• Orientate new student interns regarding internship practices, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with Advocates to support students' social-emotional and academic progress toward graduation.
• Coordinate with post-secondary team on job-readiness topics such as resumes and interviews.
• Attend division-wide meetings with Internship Coordinators and other staff.
