Job summary

InterVarsity on campus seeks a student intern to participate in ministry planning, teach Scripture, and engage with faculty and students in gospel outreach. You will help shape spiritual growth and witness on campus while learning from staff mentors and ministry leadership.

The role emphasizes relational maturity, prayerful living, and teamwork, with responsibilities including reporting, ambassador activities, and collaboration with partner churches.

Qualifications

• A follower of Jesus Christ and active member of InterVarsity.
• Annual affirmation of InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement.
• Growing passion for evangelism and campus ministry leadership abilities.
• Candidate demonstrates initiative, self-awareness, cultural awareness, and professionalism.
• Enrollment in a four-year or community college; various standing rules apply for internship eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Participate fully with the campus ministry team to cast spiritual vision and direction.
• Contribute to the campus ministry team’s plans for spiritual growth and transformation.
• Teach students to love, study, and apply Scripture to their lives.
• Promote the Mission on campus by seeking opportunities to proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
• Learn to guide chapters or assigned segments in strategic thinking regarding witness to the university.
• Model and assist students and faculty in growing in love for God’s people of every ethnicity and culture.
• Encourage a prayerful lifestyle in students, especially those not yet following Jesus as Lord and Savior.
• Engage positively with supervision and training from staff ministry trainer and/or director.
• Assist with reporting as assigned.
• Serve as an ambassador of InterVarsity to ministry partners and churches through prayer and discussion of ministry efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Currently enrolled in a four-year or community college; second year students and community college students may intern at two-year/community colleges; third year and above can work at four-year or community colleges; non-InterVarsity students at Christian colleges must have third or fourth year standing

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $31,320.00 - $41,772.00 per year, funded through personal fundraising and dependent on donor support and location
