Job summary

InterVarsity on campus seeks a student leader to join the ministry team and help shape spiritual direction for the university community.

You will teach Scripture, promote the mission on campus, and collaborate with staff to plan spiritual growth activities while modeling godly character in diverse settings.

Qualifications

• Follower of Jesus Christ and active in InterVarsity community.
• Annual affirmation of InterVarsity's Statement of Agreement.
• Developing passion for evangelism.
• Demonstrated campus ministry leadership qualities: initiative, self-awareness, cultural awareness, communication, professionalism, eagerness to learn, cross-cultural competence, teamwork, relational maturity.
• Enrollment in college with eligible standing for internship.

Responsibilities

• Participate and engage fully with the campus ministry team to cast spiritual vision and direction
• Contribute to accomplishing the campus ministry team’s plans for spiritual growth and transformation
• Teach students to love, study, and apply Scripture to their lives
• Promote the Mission on campus by seeking opportunities to proclaim and demonstrate the Gospel of Jesus Christ
• Learn to guide chapters or assigned segments in strategic thinking regarding witness to the university
• Model and assist students and faculty in growing in love for God's people of every ethnicity and culture
• Encourage a prayerful lifestyle in students, especially those not yet following Jesus as Lord and Savior
• Engage positively with supervision and training from staff ministry trainer and/or director
• Assist with reporting as assigned
• Serve as an ambassador of InterVarsity to ministry partners and churches through prayer and discussion of ministry efforts
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

• Currently enrolled in a four-year or community college; second year students and community college students may intern at two-year/community colleges; third year and above can work at four-year or community colleges; non-InterVarsity students at Christian colleges must have third or fourth year standing

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $15.51 - $20.68 per hour, funded through personal fundraising and dependent on donor support and geographic adjustments
