Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking a data specialist to ensure accurate student records and manage data requests. You will analyze data for students served or eligible for entry into the district system, import, clean, and organize data, and provide precise information to requesters.

The role requires an Associate’s degree and at least two years working with computer systems, plus strong organizational and confidentiality skills. Experience with school operations is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a relevant field and two years of related computer systems experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the student information system expert for data accuracy and reporting.
• Prepares and maintains computerized records of student attendance.
• Prepares attendance reports and reconciles monthly.
• Maintains student demographic, scheduling, grading, and medical records.
• Prepares data for beginning and end of year activities.
• Provides information and/or training to staff on SIS usage.
• Coordinates user security within the student information system.
• Keeps up to date on NC School Attendance procedures.
• Assists administration with master schedule and enrollment processes.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
