Job summary

The University of South Carolina is seeking a Custodial Manager on Swing Shift to lead a residential facilities team in a fast-paced environment, ensuring clean, safe, and welcoming living spaces for students. The role involves planning, supervision, and on-call responsibilities.

You will implement industry best practices, manage staff through training and the EPMS process, conduct QA inspections, and report on performance and supplies.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of custodial services with emphasis on safety.
• Experience in management, personnel development, problem solving, and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily and long-term planning for routine and project cleaning.
• Use industry best practices (ISSA) to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Supervise staff, including training, development, coaching, and the EPMS process.
• Respond to emergencies, weekends, and hazardous weather as part of an on-call rotation.
• Ensure quality assurance (QA) inspections are completed and properly documented.
• Conduct monthly inspections of supplies and equipment to assess condition and needs.
• Track performance and provide monthly reports on factors affecting work quality and productivity.
• Submit maintenance work orders, review their status weekly, and follow up on incomplete items.
