Job summary

Bibb County School District is seeking a Hall Monitor at ELAM Alexander Academy in Macon, GA. You will supervise students in hallways, help them reach classrooms on time, and maintain a safe, respectful environment throughout the school day.

Responsibilities include directing students, escorting them to offices when needed, coordinating with staff via radios, and monitoring corridors, restrooms, buses, and the cafeteria. Prior student experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Some experience working with students is desired.
• Military experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides effective supervision of students in and around schools using specific techniques designed to prevent safety and security incidents.
• Provides effective direction for students to help them get to the correct classrooms.
• Escorts students to classrooms or administrative office when late or wandering in halls.
• Assists teachers in removing students that are disrupting classroom activities and escorts to the administrative office.
• Maintains communication via portable radios with the admin office, Campus Police, and other hall monitors.
• Monitors and inspects restrooms to prevent loitering or damage.
• Reports vandalism and damage to building property to administrators.
• Monitors arrival/departure of school buses for safe student movement.
• Monitors the cafeteria during meals.
• Takes action to defuse conflicts and prevent confrontations.
