Job summary

The New School’s Development and Alumni Engagement (DAE) Office seeks a dynamic and talented Student Assistant to support the Individual Giving Team. This part-time role (15–20 hours/week) offers on-campus work with potential hybrid arrangements and on-the-job training in fundraising, donor cultivation, stewardship, and communications.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexible, motivated, and dependable with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with content creation (photo/video/graphics) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Donor outreach for renewals via text, email, and mail.
• Create/review content for emails, social media, and donor materials; capture campus/student photos and video.
• Support donor events for the DAE team.
• Assist in planning Student Gift events and campus engagement activities.
• Collaborate to increase student presence in Annual Giving communications.
• Support on-campus elements of Giving Tuesday and Giving Day campaigns.
• Coordinate logistics, incentives, and volunteer soliciting where needed.
• Lead or contribute to student-centered initiatives and ideas for campus awareness.
• Provide admin and data support to the Vice President including calendar management and data entry.
• Backup support for the Annual Fund inbox; review donation details in Salesforce.
